Residence Inn By Marriott Virginia Beach Oceanfront

Great ocean view, but parking situation is a total mess.

The room was a nice size, with the balcony, a sleeper sofa plus 2 queen beds, slept really well.

The location was great! The view from our room was very nice, right there on the beachfront. Plus, the pool and hot tub had long hours, which the kids loved.

Rooms were not cheap but definitely acceptable.

I have been in several "Residence Inn by Marriott" hotels over the years. This particular hotel, to say the least is the worst of all of them. It is highly overpriced and we did not get the value of $304 a night we paid for a one bed room suite. We checked out of another "Residence Inn by Marriott" within 15 mile drive (where we paid $214 /night for 2 bed room suite) to lodge into this hotel the same day. At the oceanfront residence inn, we felt that there was not enough space. Parking was squished and that is if you are lucky to get on site parking versus off site parking where you will have to wait for a long time to get your car by valet. There was a queue for every service, name it from taking the elevator to having breakfast, the gym was cramped, the pool was always crowded. The oatmeal was so watery that adding milk or syrup is impossible. In all the years I have used "Residence Inn by Marriott" hotels, I have not come across any of them that does not have fully-equipped kitchen like the Ocean Front "Residence Inn by Marriott". There was no oven, no frying pan. Thank goodness that I grilled some of my meat at the other "Residence Inn by Marriott" that I checked out from earlier on, in the first day. I will certainly not return to the Ocean Front "Residence Inn by Marriott", nor will I recommend it to anybody else, because I felt we were ripped off.

The hotel was fairly clean with marvellous location close to many restaurants and shops and impressive rooms. Really enjoyed coffee and tea making facilities, a dining area, and a seating area in the room. Overall the staff was consistently courteous.

Some of the staff were pushy.

Loved the free laundry service and the open grassy area for my dog. The view from the room was stunning, perfect for watching sunsets.

Felt like a VIP, no complaints.

The spacious living area and beautiful ocean view were good. The lobby's cute atmosphere and attentive staff added a charming touch to my visit.

The Residence Inn features a spacious kitchenette and separate bedroom and living areas. The bathroom was modern and clean, and the overall atmosphere was cute and friendly, with patient and accommodating staff who ensured my needs were met .

The bedroom air conditioning unit was quite loud, disrupting sleep.
